MENTORING

Some important things to know about mentoring!

HELP WANTED(2).png

Team 3925 is looking for adult mentors who have STEAM related experience and are interested in helping to teach and develop dedicated high school students. STEAM is defined as Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mechanics. Our student-led team needs your expert guidance to make the best robot possible and build up their confidence.

What areas do we need mentors most?
Currently, we are in need most of mentors in Business and CAD. If you have  experience in design and engineering fields, and persons with knowledge and experience of manufacturing should reach out or come by in-person to speak to a team manager or instructor.

What is the time commitment?
While mentors do not need to attend all classes, it is highly encouraged to provide consistency and guidance. The class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 9:00pm at Ventura High School. During 'Build Season' from early January to late February, the students and mentors spend many additional hours working in the classroom. Volunteers are needed during 'build season' to build the practice arena and during competitions in various capacities. We also have a need for volunteers for special events like Robo Rollout. This can include running food and registration tables and set-up or break-down of fields.
