Our Robotics class is a High School 5-credit semester, UC approved “elective G” course where students learn about a wide range of technology and soft skills related to robotics.  We teach students practical skills in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Business Strategy, Marketing, Mechanical Manufacturing (including welding, machining, & prototyping), Electrical Engineering, Computer/Robotics Programming, and much more!

Each year we participate in 'performance' robotics competitions where students experience firsthand the results of their work.  These are not 'battle bots'. Our robot competitions are run similar to a sporting event with referees and teams competing against other teams for game points. Check out our Photos and Social Media to see us in action!

We build from scratch a competitive robot each year which needs to meet several challenges, such as throwing balls, picking up disks, running autonomously, and levitating off of the floor. We must adapt to changes required to win any given competition including creating alliances with other teams and scouting for competitive advantages. While winning is important to moving on to the World Competition and the goal of the event, student learning and teamwork are our main objectives.

A large part of our learning successes are a steady stream of incoming new students who want to learn. We expect each generation of students to take our class to the next level.
